Advocacy Day is an annual national gathering that brings together Muslim leaders, advocates, and community representatives from across Canada to engage federal decision makers on key issues impacting Muslim communities. Organized by the National Council of Canadian Muslims (NCCM), the event creates a vital platform for dialogue, policy influence, and collective action at the highest levels of government.
Each year, Noor is invited as a recognized community leader to represent Edmonton’s Muslim community, share lived experiences, and elevate priority issues through thoughtful communication and strategic engagement.
As a recurring delegate, Noor participates in federal roundtables, advocacy meetings with Members of Parliament, and national discussions focused on safety, inclusion, Islamophobia, and equitable policy development. Her presence contributes to a unified national voice rooted in community experience, cultural insight, and clear, values-based communication.
The project also includes actively engaging in NCCM’s national recommendations, shaping public narrative through lived experience, and supporting the advancement of policies that strengthen safety, dignity, and belonging for Muslim communities across the country.
This project requires a combination of policy understanding, communication skill, and community-rooted leadership. The strategy focuses on:
